The West Valley Sports Medicine Program and Athletic Training is committed to providing quality medical care to its student athlete population in the form of prevention, care, treatment, rehabilitative services and athlete education. We commit to providing a scholarly and practical environment for students to learn and develop essential sports medicine skills, as well as continued assessment of knowledge and practices to ensure the highest-quality of care available.
“Athletic Trainers are healthcare professionals who collaborate with physicians to optimize activity and participation of patients and clients. Athletic training encompasses the prevention, diagnosis and intervention of emergency, acute and chronic medical conditions involving impairment, functional limitations and disabilities. Athletic Training is recognized by the American Medical Association (AMA) as a healthcare profession.” (CAATE, 2012)
