College & Career Fair with Think Together

On Wednesday, March 29 the College & Career department, in partnership with Think Together, hosted a Job & Career Fair. The event was designed to provide students with resources and tools needed to be successful in their transition from high school to college, careers and beyond.

Students were able to network and connect with a variety of professionals in a wide-range of occupational fields from 77 different businesses and community partners. Students heard directly from retail managers, business owners and academic representatives on what employers are looking for when hiring potential employees. All HUSD High Schools and Alternative School participated in this event.

At the fair, selected CTE students participated in a mock interview competition. Students from different schools went in groups before an interview board and were asked questions about their CTE experience and future career plans. One student was selected from each school group to receive a scholarship to help them in the next phase of their education or career path.

These interviews provided students with, apart from scholarships, a valuable experience meant to help prepare them for future job interviews and opportunities that may arise in the future.
