What is BARR?

Building Assets, Reducing Risks (BARR) is a freshmen program that helps all ninth graders be successful by teaming them with three core teachers. Students are also exposed to I-Time, a social-emotional curriculum they receive once a week that helps them to feel more comfortable in high school, make new friends, and learn to communicate.

BARR helps to...

1. Reduce academic failures
2. Reduce alcohol, tobacco and other drug use
3. Reduce disciplinary incidents
4. Increase attendance
5. Increase average number of assets among 9th grade
students
