The International Baccalaureate prepares students for higher education through a series of classes in the eleventh and twelfth grades.  The program interconnects the courses so that students learn course content while developing the attributes of IB Learner Profile.

In addition, students broaden their knowledge and skills by completing the IB Core.  This includes setting and achieving goals in Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS), a 4,000-word extended essay, and a Theory of Knowledge course.  Students may earn as many as 24 college units by completing the IB Diploma.  Assessments to earn college credit include end of year exams as well as classroom writings and labs.  Students who earn the IB Diploma typically are more likely to gain acceptance to a higher level university including Ivy League and other prestigious schools.
