College and Career Fair

On Tuesday, October 25, 2016, Hemet Unified School District (HUSD) had its second district-wide College and Career Fair at West Valley High School’s gymnasium from 6-8 p.m.

This event was created by Erica Espinoza, Counselor at West Valley High School. With support from the West Valley staff, Ms. Espinoza wanted an event for students who are actively thinking about their next steps in life and to provide information about various options available to students after high school.  She was able to create a wonderful outlet for students and community members to familiarize themselves with college and career opportunities.

Approximately 1,600 people attended this year’s College and Career Fair. Staff were delighted by the number of people that came to participate. Espinoza expressed how grateful she was for the opportunity to promote college and career awareness for students and families within the community.

Vendors that attended were impressed by the students, and witnessed the sincerity and interest students showed in their future. Students were asking questions about acceptance rates, programs offered, and various other questions.

Thank you to all of the families that were able to join us for the Fair. We were excited to see the interest students and families showed throughout the evening. We look forward to next year, as well as the positive outcome that will surely be the result of this wonderful event.
